Day 3- Sep 29th 2012 Vimoutiers to Nogent le Rotrou (Total 66 miles - Running Total 209 miles)

Early morning in Vimoutiers was really cold at around 37 degrees, but aside from some low mist, the sky was clear and it promised to warm up to another beautiful day. I took the time to survey this gorgeous location before setting off to Nogent le Rotrou.

The climb out of Vimoutiers was again very steep and certainly helped to warm me up. Rolling hills and some quite difficult climbs seemed to be the order of the day.  Normandy is certainly a beautiful part of France and a cyclist's dream. The work I did plotting routes on quiet D roads and downloading to my GPS was paying dividends as I scarcely saw a car for much of the day. Even though progress was slow with so many hills this has to be one of my favourite days of the entire ride, passing through some stunning villages and hamlets and some of the most breathtaking countryside I have ever seen. I arrived in Nogent late afternoon and after checking into the hotel went with Michael for an early supper - bloody pizza again.
